Installation

1. Unzip and run the setup program.
2. Launch the application from the Start menu folder.
3. Enter your del.icio.us username and password into the two small textboxes.
4. Click the Update button on the lower left hand corner.
5. Click in the textbox at the top of the screen, and start typing.
6. Enjoy!

Usage tips

• This client does not let you add links to delicious. There is a very nice plugin for firefox already that does a better job.
• The dropdown next to the search box lets you switch between searching the tags and the full description. I usually choose “All” for best results, but the default is to search by tag.
• Updates will happen automatically once an hour, but you can hit the update button if you choose.
• Using Alt+D as a hotkey will bring the client to the foreground. This is not yet configurable.
• The keyboard plays a big part in this application. I’ve tried to make it fairly easy to use, but the general idea is that you navigate this way, although you can use the mouse or any other method you prefer.
• Type a search into the search box
• Use the arrow keys to navigate down through the search results, and hit enter. (Hitting the down key while in the search box will take the focus automatically to the search results)
• The client will then hide
• The gmail keys j, k, o work while focused in the search results area.
• You can delete links, or copy the link text / url to the clipboard, but you can’t make modifications yet. Next version.
• Update: As of 12/6/2006, the password is now encrypted.

Notes:

• If this breaks your system, don’t blame me.
• I plan to release this as open source, but I haven’t gotten that setup yet, and I need to remove some angry comments.
